    Dead DRL Passenger Side

    Hi guys!

My Dad drives a 2019 Velar and his front, passenger side DRL has just completely died. Has this happened to anybody else? If so, what was the fix? I’ve done a little research and saw from overseas videos that it requires a new “chip board” like part that gets replaced within the light housing? I’m happy to try do this job myself, just wanted to see how others have gone about fixing the issue.

    Cheers!

Sounds very similar to an issue with early Defenders and IIRC the lens needed to be removed to replace the module.

Same issue with mine. There’s a small trick you can use — flick the headlight control dial and it’ll switch the remaining DRL off. Once the car goes over about 20 km/h it’ll turn back on, so you need to slow down to around 10 km/h, flick it again, and it’ll stay off for the rest of the trip. Just note this also keeps the headlights off, so you’ll need to flick it back the other way if you want them on.

As for repairs, it’s tough finding someone who can replace the module itself. RR quoted me $11.5 k for a full headlight unit, so I’m currently hunting around wreckers for a cheaper option.
