All that is true, still some people will no doubt want a coil defender for remote touring or remote work, not rockcrawling, I think their would be a lot of unhappy people if there wasn't the option.
If you compare the coil specs of the D5 to the air suspension specs, it would for sure be a tough call to pick the coil.
Happy to be proven wrong on release, but i don't think it affects anyone either way. If Landrover do provide a coil version it will also let people that couldn't afford the air version in at a lower price point.
D3 coilers are becoming popular for overlanders/tourers now.
