It would be good if it was light. A 110 should have a better load space than a D5. Stripped out of nonsense like electrically folding seats, tailgate, tailgate seat and other fluff should bring a 110 in at under 2 tons. Happy days. Cheers

They've already shown they can cut 450kg off the weight of the Rangie and D5 using aluminium and the Defender is using the same platform so weight savings are likely.

Agree it will be harder for the new Defender then the Jimny. But much more worth it.
The Jimny is one vehicle I certainly wouldn't be putting any heavy bar work on if I was wanting to have any payload at all.
Agree with the weight reduction however I think the platform will have similarities like subframe ect, however for hybrid it will have to be different hence MLA.Quote:
