A lot of stuff from China is dangerous and substandard - like the flammable panelling now all over buildings in Melbourne, or the dodgy house wiring that's meant that a lot of houses have had to be rewired. But they do now also have some quality manufacturers. Some of the car makers will become fixtures here, most likely Haval.

I think you can say the same about any country......

Keep in mind the panel would have been built to a spec....which more than likely was a non-Chinese based company trying to save a few bucks.

Just thinking....we are in the middle of commissioning a new plant, one of my priorities is to reverse engineer the main wear components as OEM pricing is crippling

My understanding was that they represented that the panels were fireproof and met the standard - which they don't. And yes, the builders bought that stuff to save money.

Absolutely - but a lot isn't either - buyer beware.

You get the quality you pay for, same as anywhere else.
I was talking with someone who went to China to get a consumer item made. The factory told him to decide his retail price and they would work backwards to give him the quality that was possible to produce that retail price.

A number of things they don't have. Like good steel. Try welding Chinese mild versus Aus BHP steel...

    Cheers
