As for D5’s in action - Lee Jackson on this forum has a very well kitted out D5 and uses it regularly.
Well the last year of the D4 people would be flocking to buy?, so you would look at a few years before..i think they sell 3x more D5s then RR Vogues and half as many D5s as RRS from last time i checked.

Not a flop by any means, but some people like to claim that

    My point is -

People bought up the D4 because it’s a good car.

    The same people didn’t want a D5 - they specifically wanted a D4.

So the D5 is a flop isn’t it? The target audience didn’t want it and rushed out to buy the last of the D4’s.

Personally a D5 is too big and expensive for me.

I would be even more dissapointed if they released a "sport" version. IMO discovery sport really ruined the line same with the evokes, if they make a defender sport clone fast back looking POS its another nail in the NON utility coffin.

Discovery sport is more underrated for some then the D5 it seems, there is a reason why its LR's biggest seller worldwide and in Oz as andd it just got better with 48v mild hybrid, invisible bonnet amongst many other things.

Hmm, I guess its as much a flop as the D3 when it hit the market full of D2 owners.
D3 was later known as a great car after people got over the back door and new design, history is almost repeating itself to the letter..only now, myself included are people starting to understand how good the D5 is, even though nearly every unbiased automotive reviewer and magazine in the world has been saying so for years. It seems us LR folk don't like change. Im sure its the same with other manufactures too when they make large drastic changes to loved models.

May also have to do with price . I just went on L/R website and priced the range nationwide. Didnt look where it was cheapest but these are the cheapest listed , so it would be the base model. I didnt try the build your own .

    D /Sport =$54,000
    D 5 = $69.900
    RR Evoque = $56,000
    RR Velor = $83,500
    RR Sport = $114,500

Pretty easy to see why the Disco Sport and the Evoque are the top sellers .

    Cheers Ean
