wondering how much is the price going to be? $100k plus??
quote..Obviously, this would be for a road biased version... who knows what they would limit an off road biased version to.
I'm lost more now.....
...a road biased version? What is a Discovery? What is a Discovery Sport? (D5 doesn't exist , according to Land Rover Qld)
....and really? they are going to make an off road biased version of the Defender?
wondering how much is the price going to be? $100k plus??
Apologies RB, let me see if I can clarify further to help you understand what I was getting at....
I hope that helps. Let me know if you need any more info.
PS: A handy tip for you, at the bottom of every post is a row of buttons one of which is "Reply with Quote". If you click that for any post you want to reply to, the system will give you their quote in a nice little speech bubble (like my quote of yours). It'l save you having to copy and paste parts of peoples post when replying to them.
Cheers,
Sean

Great post, if they do an "SVR" version of the new defender (which is tipped) and suspension drops to same low height as RRS SVR with maybe even wider stance 280kph might well be possible.
My original comment was based on fact of the fastest Land Rover we have, using it as an example of the absolute extreme of what could be possible on a very similar platform.
Having said that its probably more likely to be mid 200's for the defender with it being more off road biased so might not be possible susp and handling wise, but who knows we might be surprised again tech is always improving.
I don't think they'll make anything that will go faster than the Sport. Even the SVO FFRR has a top speed of 250 Kph. The Sport is Land Rovers go fast vehicle including 1-100 times. While we can talk about the Defender competing with the the MB " AMG G" or even the Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk (Beast!), for me, it would be preferable that the Defender concentrate on the off road credentials. That's where it's heritage lies and that's where Land Rover should focus its capabilities.
If Land Rover were to put effort into competing at the "go-fast" end of the spectrum then, I would hope that they double that effort in competing in off road capability.

.....and rather than a SVR version they should do a SVX version.
I actually don't really like that idea either as it implies that the very best off road capabilities would be limited to the most expensive vehicle leaving it out of reach of most. The Disco SVX is a classic example of pricing themselves out of the market. I'd almost guarantee that no one will buy it regardless of the financial landscape. If they do a SVX version sans all of the styling guff priced for the people I think it'd go off like a firecracker on cracker night. Perhaps that's what the "X" model designation was in the preso slides posted earlier.
Anyway, enough of my musings.
