Very good, you looked up the words in a dictionary.
So Landrover called their new chassis system MLA and its fluff?
What would you have preferred they call it so that it wouldn't be as fluffy? Haha
Send em an email and let them know mate im sure they will find your email amusing at H/O

Would have thought all the extra padding and disguise on there would make the speed/dynamics testing a little skewed?

Whilst I agree in part to this there is always a marketing element to the Nurburgring.
I disagree it's all for marketing.
Land Rover have a dedicated Base near the Nurburgring as shown in the pictures.
Much of their high speed testing would happened here.
If you look closely the defender Nurburgring cars look like they have been thrashed here.
Look closer again and the driver has a helmet on and there is a significant roll cage inside.
If it was just for marketing they would just be putting around for the cameras.
Defender Nurburgring Cars?
where?
who says they are defenders?
Hmm,again partly agree, for sure real world testing finds real issues and scenarios that simply can't be imagined by the testers.
However saying only real testing happens when somebody buys one, is saying that all the extensive testing that Land Rover are currently doing all over the world and have no doubt done in their proving facilities is not real, from what i have seen it is very real.
The little Evoque is a great example of the extent Land Rover go to test a vehicle before release, I certainly respect the Evoque and Land Rovers testing programs a lot more after watching these videos then I did in the past.

Maybe "real world testing is complete after the first customers have their cars for a few months" is more accurate.. as I've said before its just like when they release a new phone and the public somehow find issues and bugs that a huge team of Engineers couldn't.
