Land Rover already has one of the stupidly largest ranges of similar vehicles - they really should NOT be doing this they are just creating overlap in their range and stealing sales from themselves...
Fools
I'm also fed up with the term 'Sport' being used as a metaphor for 'smaller'.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Sales are doing pretty well on the DS and Evoque. A small scale Defender, the size of a Freelander, with more cargo space than the other two, might do ok without stealing market.
However it might take some entry level D5 sales for families that don’t need quite that much room or was cheaper.
L322 tdv8 poverty pack - wow
Perentie 110 wagon ARN 49-107 (probably selling) turbo, p/steer, RFSV front axle/trutrack, HF, gullwing windows, double jerrys etc.
Perentie 110 wagon ARN 48-699 another project
Track Trailer ARN 200-117
REMLR # 137
The Disco Sport is LR's top-selling vehicle, followed by the Range Rover Evoque, so I can understand why they think a Defender Sport should sell well. They have said the aim is to have three familues of vehicles. That would be another use of the 2.0 diesel. Spreading costs across platforms is good economics.

As they did with RANGE ROVER Epoke.
How that thing ever became a RR is beyond me,it has absolutely nothing to do with a RR,apart from the badge.
Discovery 5 has gone the same way,not a Disco anymore, the D4 was the last one.
Its actually an around town SUV,where the Disco was an affordable family all terrain off road go anywhere touring wagon.
Then the new Defender 110 sits somewhere in the line up as well, but being quite a bit smaller in the rear than D4,isn't really a great touring wagon.
