Perhaps just carry less
Took me 10+ years to reduce Mrs Tombies “must take” list down from a Prime mover and trailer down to the rear of the vehicle!
We can now go 4 weeks living out the back without a problem.

Of course the rear springs didn’t love the 400kg and they may have taken a slightly lower set from that day onwards - oops!!!

Reminds me of the Cortina I saw one Saturday morning forty years ago stopped by the side of Punt Rd in Melbourne, just north of the railway bridge. There used to be a bad bupm there heading south. He had a roofrack with five bags of cement on it. His roof was about a foot lower than normal!
