This is from Land Rover. Read what it says about the TD5 and remote working. No doubt the same goes for the new model....

    Just reading that blurb....

Maybe they should have placed the "Get you Home" stuff in the front roof lining for instance using a separate module if it so susceptible to water, then it may have been a true GYH asset?

It can't be that difficult to electronically separate the box of trix components.

    Just sayin'.

It's a permanent accessory not load, just like a snorkel or fitting some Fender flares, non-issue in my opinion.

According to Carsales the 90 will start at 60k approx.

So a bit less than we all estimated

I would say that would be a given.

From what I have seen the Land Rover diesels don't seem to have the issues that Toyota are having, so seems to be a good combo.

    Impressive, from another forum.

Some more detailed technical information from this Oz article: 404 - Page Not Found | WhichCar

    A few salient ones:

    14 - Defender's electrics gets IP67 electrical rating
The electronics and connections in the new Defender have been designed to meet the IP67 water immersion standards. That means they can be submerged in one metre of fresh water for an hour without intrusion or damage.

    31 - Bullbar
Land Rover has developed a ’roo bar specifically for Australia. To be made of steel, the bar will be offered as an accessory, keeping intact all sensors and safety systems. The ’roo bar will be revealed closer to the car’s June 2020 on-sale date.

    34 - Crawl time
The Defender has an impressively low crawl ratio of 51.5:1 for diesel versions and 57.2:1 for the six-cylinder petrol.

    45 - Stopping power
There is no mechanical link between the brake pedal and the brake discs. Instead the Defender gets a brake-by-wire system claimed to provide more “precise, linear brake pressures”. Engineers also say the electronic braking system helps with off-road traction due to the ability to better regulate braking to each individual wheel.

Not sure if it looks that great but it looks ok.. sticking out not an issue as it fits inside mirror width anyways.. i guess in tight turns you might have to keep an eye on it if there was a tree there... but yeah useful i guess for those sandy speedos and thongs...
