Old thread it seems, but I have a Zone RV Peregrine coming this December (2024) and have purchased this hitch:

Please ignore the anti-rattle bracket (it's not fitted correctly) nor is the DO35 nut tightened yet - this was a test fit. The hitch is rated for 3500kg/350kg in down or up position, made of aluminium and only weighs 1.5kg (important with the Defender when every kg counts!).

Stinger - Black Jack Trailer Jacks - I have the "50mm Stinger Only"
CURT 22325 No-Tool Anti-Rattle Hitch Clamp Tightener for 2-Inch Receiver, Hollow or Solid Shanks : Curt Manufacturing: Amazon.com.au: Automotive

Work brilliantly and measure in the 510-530mm height range as per Zone RV requirements.

    Shane.

I went for the Mr. HITCHES steel tongue and 50mm square hitch.not sure I'd trust a >80k aud caravan to an aluminium tongue. I love the D035 hitch, I'm sure you will too, makes towing, hitching and unhitching so easy. Ive inverted the hitch, same orientation as per your photo, and the tow pin sits at 510 mm, with car in normal driving height, perfect for the van.

Locking pin is a hard chromed solid high strength pin with the locking thread on one side. Anti rattle clip sits inside the receiver.

Make sure the hitch pin nut is torqued, don't rely on a rattle gun you'll only get to around 50% of the required 450Nm.
