Excellent tyre, i opted for Yokohama g015 for our patrol due to availability at the time, but it was a tie between them, nitto, and falken.
I also found after a lot of research that 275/70/18 was the most common size

No worries mate. They were a more niche tyre company. They were taken over my Toyo. I think more recently they might do a couple of passenger tyres but really they are a 4wd tyre company and most of their range is quite agressive. They have an excellent reputation amongst hard core offroaders in the US and are quickly gaining a strong following here.

1st PLace: Renegade RT+
2nd Place: Wildpeak AT3W
The Renegades were purchased to try, now on both the Defender and the D4... Fantastic... Had them out in the 94mm of rain we got and no sign of aquaplaning and very positive on all surfaces...
Bite through mud very well and sand isnt a problem either.
Thanks Tombie.
What size (Renegade RT+ )do you run on the Defender, can't seem to find a 32 inch size.
Cheers
Hey Tombie,
I had previously run 285/60/18 on the Compos I have and whilst they were very reassuring in super soft sand, they did scrub at certain times and would probably act like a handbrake if I had a suspension failure. So I'm thinking of dropping width and increasing ratio as the 285s are now toast.
I run Scorpion AT Plus on the 19s, which I quite like as they have a fairly good tread block, stick pretty well, are pretty robust and are relatively quiet. I was musing about getting those in the 18s, although they are an unknown quantity as I've never had them off-road .... but they do get good reviews. However, I really don't know how genuine the reviews are and much prefer input from folks like yourself that have done a fair bit of testing.
Do the Renegades rub at all, at that size (265/65/18)?
Cheers,
Kev.
Just had the Nittos in the rain deluge in Brisbane. Highway speed and tight cornering at lower speeds, going through sodden roads with 6 to 10 inches of water in parts. Brilliant tyre. Voids water in a big way. Handles like the proverbial to a sock. Brakes the same. Very happy with these Ridge Grapplers. Cheers
