Of REAL interest is from 49.00 mins onwards….where they claim a brake release after stalling.
(Disclaimer…I rolled my D4 in very similar circumstances, which I put down to driver error (wrong line and not putting handbrake on in time….but even today I can’t understand why my brakes didn’t hold).

I have heard a few say,its nice,at times, to have a manual center diff lock.

Seems LR have deleted this from their modern vehicles.

Given that review was from a year ago, it looks like they never got an explanation from JLR as to what failed during the hill climb, and more importantly if they have updated the software to prevent it from happening again.

Instead the JLR response was to ask they don’t publicise the incident.

Actually was a good video, long winded but they did cover a lot.

The end, geez, when you think about being in it while it free wheeled down the hill with no brakes that really must have been a butt clencher at the very least.

That would be confronting.

Not enough to put me off purchasing one per se, but there always seems to be some scenario that completely outwits the electronics.

Unfortunately I think this is just the way of the world now with modern vehicles. You either accept the limitations and learn to work around them or continue to live in the past - like me.

On the positive side, if he had gone over the edge he had a much better chance of survivng it than in an old Defender, or the Jimny.

Anyone thinking they would get a response from JLR are dreaming.

If the brakes had overheated,due to continual operation of TC,surely they would have smelt them.

One would think with all the fancy electronics,the vehicle would have a message come up on the dash if there was an issue,particularly due to a brake problem,or even a pending brake issue.

Other brand vehicles come up with a warning "Traction Control Disabled",if the TC has overworked.
