External Trailer Camera - Pivi Pro or Clearsight

Anyone tried to connect a trailer with an external camera to the Pivi Pro or even better, the clearsight mirror for towing large trailers?

I use Clearview mirrors and a reversing camera and I can pull up so that the towball is directly under the coupling every time

thanks but think your missing the point.

I want to hook up my hybrid camper/caravan and when i hook the camera at the back of the van up is shows the image in the clearsight camera that is of no use when you have a van behind you or for the image to come through on the Pivi Pro

your getting clearview mixed up with the clearsight in the new defender, that uses a camera on the roof for looking rearward instead of the traditional mirror

The clearsight camera would be petty much useless when towing a van or large boat as you would see SFA behind the van/boat with it.
I have a set of "Clearview" mirrors on my 79 Series and I have absolutely NO problems seeing the following traffic in them even if they are right up the arse of the van.
Adding yet another electronic camera to the van is prone to problems, Why not simply upgrade the rear view mirrors and be done with it.
The KISS principle is usually the best approach

Well, actually I was having go at Trout for not addressing your topic so the link to Clearview was to make a point. (I was wearing my Moderator's hat.).

Yes, I'm aware of the Defender's Clearsight mirror as I didn't check that box when I ordered mine.

Hopefully you will get an informed and useful response to your question!

A set of Clearview mirrors WILL solve the OP's problem, I have no idea why you need your " Moderators hat" to think that through.
