As a cab owner driver who only did night shift, I had many trannys and other non mainstream types in the car over the years. And yes a transistor radio is a thing long gone now.

PS I preferred night shift as I'd rather deal with **** pots, poofters, punch-up artists, brothels and pubs than take women and their awful kids to shopping centres, deal with medical centres and hospitals etc. plus Perths traffic management strategy of lights at every junction.
