    Towing and P400 fuel consumption

Just completed our first of 8 weeks on the road travelling through QLD and the NT and
the fuel consumption figures are not to bad, not brilliant but workable for our P400 110.

We are getting a return of approx 21.98 litres per 100 km’s according to my wallet at the servo,
speed averages between 86-92 kph according to the LR remote app, towing 3.1T and mostly on
central QLD highways… that gives us a range of approx 400kms on a tank, which is not great,
but manageable if you plan fuel stops.. potential for a larger tank, or possibly replace the
caravan with a lighter off road camper trailer to get more distance and deeper off the tarmac..

    Good info

I’ve just bought a D300 and so far been well impressed with the consumption
You read manufacturer stats and they overstate figures based on lab results, but for such a big and powerful vehicle it’s pleasantly surprising to see such low figures

So what consumption are you achieving from the D300 and what type of driving? I realise it's early days for you but would still be interesting.

The car is 2nd hand - about 18mths old and done ~26,000 kms
    was on 10.7L/100
now down to 10.4L after a week of use

still trying to work out how to reset the trip computer without resorting to the manual 😂

    old Paj was 11-12L/100

I wonder if that is actual speed,or what the vehicle's speedo indicates, which is generally around 5% faster than actual?

That is if it has OEM sized tyres.

In this regard, the manual is the next-door neighbor of useless!

    It's a bit tricky.

After refueling proceed and press the button on the end of the left-hand stalk until the trip odometer "zeros". The consumption stats should start from there. The distance to refill remains unchanged....I think.

    Thanks
    I’ll give that a go
Had an EV for 6 months before the Defender and got free charges at work and I have solar at home so haven’t needed to visit a petrol station for all that time….
Now have to get used to $200 refills 😂🤦🏽

Nope, distance to empty changes bases on last known consumption. I'm at 2800km and getting 10.2l/100km indicated on 95RON. 700km to a tank.

I have a 1 month old D300. 6.6l/100 on highway to gold coast . 7.5l/100km on 1200 km trip to Gladstone return trip.
We towed Bne to Canberra. 3.3T van 13.2l100 on good flat highway and maxed out at 16.0L/100 when at 110kph and through lots of hills.
I am sure this will get untidy if we hit rough or dirt road

The down side is cruise control has failed twice,
It is rubbish at reading the roadside speed signs, gets them wrong or makes them up when none are there
We found it will not run the flickers on the caravan and the dealer is getting a fix as Land Rover said it is not their issue.
BUT drives and tows like a dream. It accelerates to 110kpm to crest any hill.

With my P400 towing a small Bruder at 1.5t I'm getting roughly an average of about 17ltr per 100km. That's with the camper always in tow for trips from Sydney, last trip being to Cairns on the inland routes. Roof rack, bull bar, side ladder, raised air intake & luggage box fitted.
