    Questions, questions, questions

Hi guys, it's time to sell the 2011 D4 which has been an amazing car and buy something new. Nothing really fit the bill and I was going to get a 300 series cruiser. But they don't drive well and there's heps of criticism online about the way they tow and heaps of videos of them stuck in places my D4 would cruise through.

Anyway, I figured I should give the Defender a look-in and wow, I drove one the other day and it is just amazing. i think I will suffer the small cargo area (I have 3 kids + friends). But, I have a bucket load of questions, which hopefully people can answer. Unfortunately, you can only get a D350 SE now.

    1. Do the inline 6 cyclinders suffer from the fuel in oil isssues of some of the other models?
    2. What is the 6th seat like? I have a mate I will try and catch up with whi hass oone, but haven't seen one at the dealers. You seem to lose a bit of storage space.

    thanks. More questions too come.
    Cheers
    Lucas

Can I suggest you look at Defender2.net or the Australian FB groups for a search.
    In relation to the fuel/oil dilution question - I have a D300 - I don't hear of it being a problem.
The vehicle has a built in monitor which warns when an oil change is required due to fuel dilution.
The only reason I know that is LR checked when I had the car in for another reason and asked about a service ahead of their 32k interval.
I was told the dilution value hadn't gotten high enough to warrant a service.
Anyway, I just had the first service done by them at 26k.

Just do it. I moved from a D4 to a P400SE and haven't looked back. Straight 6 petrol power (400bhp) and getting decent fuel economy for a 3t SUV. No dpf, egr, diesel dilution of the oil to worry about engine wise. Very comfortable, capable and ergonomic. Tows very well, heaps of options and aftermarket upgrades available as the same vehicle models have been released in the US and China.

    A definite step forward imho.

100% agree with above. Just do it. Certainly the best vehicle I've owned and driven. Effortless on and offroad in comfort.
