    90 vs 110?

    I feel myself being drawn to replace my MY14 D4, which I have owned from new, and is now ticking towards 400,000km. Now the kids have left home, I am wondering if I even need a 4 door wagon any more? 90% of the time there is only me in it anyway... There are a few D250 90 Defenders with low kms out there for sale at the moment.

    For those that have a (new shape) Defender 90, how are they to live with? Can passengers get in to the rear seats ok? Is there enough space in the back, with the seats folded down, to store everything when going camping? Could you fit 2 full size suitcases in the back with the seats up?

    I do a bit of highway work and towing, so want the 3.0l over a 2.0l motor. How does the mild hybrid system work in practice? Is it noticeable?

    I have owned my 90 for 3 years (and 123,000km so far).
    You wouldn’t be able to get 2 suitcases in the back with the seats up. The boot is very small.
    Out of the box - the rear seat doesn’t fold flat. However I have seen a video where the seat base is easily removed and then the seat does fold flat.
    The front doors on a 90 are longer than the 110. Something to consider it tight car parks.
    Rear entry is so/so - plenty of room and comfortable seats. But ingress isn’t easy for the elderly.
    I love my 90 to bits. Yes you could go camping easily with the seats base out and folded flat.
    There is a cross brace in the back of the 90 that isn’t in the 110.
    Go the V8 Octa…!!!

    My series 2A 109" Forward Control is just about my daily driver these days, so access/egress is all relative! Lol

    I've got an MY24 90, albeit a P300, and would echo grey_ghost's sentiment that it's a great car. In an MY24 the rear seat bases fold forwards so that the rear seats fold horizontal. There is an additional tray the same height as the folded seats that the jack cover fits, so you can have a completely flat load space.

    Rear seat entry is fine but if the car has full electric front seats the seat base has to be moved electrically, which isn't fast. Two suitcases would fit with part of the rear seat folded.

    If you have the choice of a few 90's, I would try for one with the electronic rear diff and signature lights. Not because of the signature ring, but because the lens is projector type instead of reflector. Having had a couple of cars with projector headlight lenses I wouldn't go back to a reflector, the light is just better. And the electronic diff to make life easier for the traction control, should you need it
