    french friends raced their 110s in the dakar in 1979 ans 1982 before it became so commerical

    they have photos but no videos as such
    here is a video of early days with range rovers

    That is a great vid.

    Just imagine the heat under the bonnet,a twin turbo petrol, hot V,V8, going flat out.
    Luckily it is winter so ambient temps are quite mild.

    It sure has the largest fuel tank ever found in an LR

    So they have cleaned up the first 4 Stages.
    Won today,1st,2nd,and3rd.

    The only factory supported team in the class,of 8 vehicles,so not a huge amount of competition.
    Three are Defenders,they also have 6 times the techs and engineers of any other team.
    I bet the BMW engine is probably the most powerfull in the class as well.

    Anyway,it will be amazing if they keep going the way they are going.

    As an update, stage 6 with yet another 1,2 and 3, so far Defender has won every stage of timed sections
    also the engine is detuned to comply with stock rules of power to weight ratios
    Discovery 1 4.6, true trac front and rear, superior engineering arms,old tourer now bush toy
    Discovery 4 3.0 HSE MY13 ECB Bull bar, winch, spot lights, aux fuel tank, Kaymar rear bar, duel wheel carriers, 18 tuff ant wheels 265/65/18 BFG KO2's for play

    They also won the Prologue which doesn't count as they use it to set the running order.
