Thread: How to - L663 SOS Limited Functionality Location of Telematics Back-Up Battery Fixed!

Hello Guys,

Just wanted to share a problem that we have managed to fix on two L663 Land Rovers which have had the same issue of the SOS Limited Functionality error on the dash.

Both of these came back to the Telematics Battery (Back-Up Battery) that is located in the Telematics unit. After successfully changing the battery and clearing the faults there were no error messages.

The location of the Telematics is different for the 3 door and 5 door and accessing them is slightly different.

The battery itself is only £25 which is relatively cheap and the whole process shouldn't take longer than about 40 minutes.

Does the GAP tool pick up this fault?

I'm not sure if that tool would pick up the fault or not. i wouldnt see why it wouldnt if its got access to the telematics module.
