    FYI only.

Just FYI, and unfortunately one frustrated word means I have to break the link. Ingenium failure vid from a LR Tragic.

Certainly a "Land Rover Tragic" and also a "Whinging Pom"...we didn't need the complaint about catching the trains as well!

AFAIK The issue with the Ïngenium engine is mostly confined to the 2 litre diesel engine version used in JLR products not just the Defender.

What I would like to know is whether the engineering fault(s) causing the failures have been been identified and engineered to prevent recurrence in the replacement engines?

I'm aware that the early I4 had an underrated timing chain and sprockets, which were upgraded well before the I6 went into production. That the timing gear is at the back of the engine may have caused LR to be reluctant to upgrade them all, keeeping their fingers crossed that the majority would survive a reasonable tme.

Geez, I thought that was a totally justified remark. Heck, I caught a train, two years ago, this month. I haven't recovered from the trauma yet!
