    Know guys who restarted a 15A dozer that had been sitting for more that 20 years in outback Qld. Took them a day or so but they got it going.

    I and my son started a Cat D7D 17A dozer that sat for 12 years on the side of a hill. The main problem is if the exhausts are capped or not. Water ingress stuffs them properly. Took us a day or so but it runs perfectly. I bought it b 4 starting it. ..cheap..as a non runner😎

    So it can be done!

    It does. It breeds a sort of algae, but that usually causes blocked pickup filters over time. It won't happen unless there is contact with air IIRC, which it won't get in the pump and pipes. Must admit that I was surprised when it just started though.
