    G'day All,
As I've said before it's awful quiet n lonely around here, I went to the local swap meet this morning and didn't buy anything , absolutley nothing caught my eye, I spoke with Warwick Lord, and I did notice he had some Pioneering tool holders, so if you need some give him a call.
Today I grit blasted the gearshift after dismantling and cleaning it yesterday

the shift was notchey and looked pretty ordinary down inside, but it is all clean and greased/painted and hung out to dry

with 113-372 in the background, I have a NOS shift pattern knob, now to bolt it into place tomorrow, anyway that was day, cheers Dennis
ps I did score a empty 106mm RCL cartridge case today, a mate purchased one and I spotted him with it, he was only going to sit up on the wall, so I offered him a swap for 3" Navy prac/round, he didn't hesitate, he was happy n so was I .. now I only need 2 more to complete the set, then to turn the projectiles and driving bands on the lathe

Not Land Rover work, but work for Land Rovers!

    G'day All,
I had to do something now that my 110 is home, 'Chloe & Wee-Wullie' have occupied the parking space normally reserved for my 110 since April this year, well today we started work on changing that.
This patch of grass always seems to die off during winter, so I mentioned to swmbo, I'm going to dig that patch out

and pave it properly, so yesterday (Friday) we went and picked up 500+ pavers in two trips, all using one of my No5 trailers, heres 'Charli' checking them out

Early this morning we set off to Maitland to hire a Mini-dig machine, I wasn't digging that area by hand, the machine made short work of it, but left a mess on the concrete

all that earth had to be sorted by hand and moved (grass free) into the vegie garden, the garden took all the earth, the grass + some earth went around to the bantam's enclosure, where they will make short work demolishing it, the garden is now full,

to end off today I pressure washed the dirt off the concrete, it went straight back into the hole it came out of

it has rained (spitting heavy spots) here today making work difficult at times, I returned the machine to where we hired it from, the staff there were surpised that we didn't keep it for the weekend, I said I don't have the room to store it,
anyway tomorrow (if it's not raining!!) I will continue on with this job, I doubt whether I will have it finished by 10th Sept (Broke fair) as I'm certain I will not be driving any Land Rovers down into that hole LOL, anyway cheers Dennis

I know this might sound like a silly question Dennis but have you ever thought of selling up and buying a bigger place with a very large workshop/shed?

    G'day All,
Many times that thought had crossed my mind, my wife used to own a 25 acre property but at the time she didn't want to live there, so it was sold.
It recently sold for $776,000.00, but at 62+yo I wouldn't like to be in any sort of debt, I will keep looking for another storage garage locally, anyway cheers Dennis

    Still no work on 113-372

    G'day All,
Well if I have found out one thing over the past week, I don't want to be a tradesperson laying pavers, the good wife has worked her ding off today, she layed the pavers while I carried pavers and shifted metal dust.
Last evening I hired a 'packer whacker' that was a thrill on it's own,
by 1100hrs this morning we had laid these pavers

we had an early lunch, as I was expecting the staff from the local hire shop to turn up and take the 'packer', but alas at 1600hrs it's still here at my place, I'm not paying anymore for the hire, as I rang them this morning at 0810hrs and told them I was finished with it, I rang again at 1010hrs, only to be told that somebody was going to pick it up at 1200hrs, anyway we continued on and have done as much as we can today, and as I have to work tomorrow (and the next 6 days) it will be late in the week before we can finish it, that rules out any Land Rovers in the carport coming out for the 'Broke Village Fair' next weekend, such is life!!,

I had a phone call from EricP this arvo, he was chasing info re the Bungs as fitted to No5 trailers, I told him he could buy new ones from any ships Chandlers, he wanted to know about the thread size for the bungs!!, I told him they are 'ACME' thread (square) and that taps are not available for them, anyway I'm sure he will work it out eventually, well I'm ready for tea/shower/bed as 0520hrs 4/9/2011 will come soon enough, anyway cheers Dennis

    Still no work on 113-372

    G'day All,
Well, Broke Village fair came and went, the weather was very favourable, I could only manage to take these two Land Rovers

well the good wife drove our 110, (so I guess that made 3) towing the 'Hilton' LOL as I'm used to sleeping rough at this event, it was nice to sleep in sheets,

thats my mate John's 110 on the right of the frame, but I had to share my bunk with this big mutt

we had a small campfire, as it was very cold overnight, everytime I got off my chair to adjust the fire 'Charli' got on it, poor little 'Max' had to be content with sitting in his bed/crate near the fire

'Charli' doesn't think she is a DOG and wasn't going to sit/lay on the canvas ground sheet, such is life.
There was Mk5 Inter ex rural fire service, I followed it home, it turned towards Kienbah, so I don't know who owns it (no pix either) it was good sitting behind it as it travelled at approx 45mph, nice n comfortable.
Over the past couple of days, I picked up another 50 pavers, and borrowed my neighbours brick saw, we got into it yesterday, cutting heaps of pavers, to fit into place, then cement an edge, sweeping sand n cement into the gaps/cracks, then hose it all down, this is what it looks like this afternoon

and the 'veggie garden' is looking very inviting

no work tomorrow either on 113-372, as we are off to Pt Stephens, we are going to climb Tomaree head, I wouldn't know how many times I had climbed it as a youngster, finding all manner of artifacts from WW2 but that was 50 years ago, last time I climbed it was 1995, so this might be my last time , I will take pix and post them for all to see, anyway cheers Dennis
ps the 'fence' around the top of the veggie garden is to stop 'Max' (Sheltie) from getting into it, as swmbo had just finished planting things with blood n bone, and Max got on top of it all, all little mutts like vegetables, they nick Spinach, minature Capsicum, they are very clever how they devise ways to get at it all, anyway the fence resembles the 12 volt electric fence that we have to keep them away from the inside gate, 'Digger' no text messages to 'Max' about the fence LOL
pps next Friday I will move a few Land Rovers about, so that will test the pavers, but Sunday is reserved for the Expo,,.

    The End is Nigh!!

    G'day All,
"the End Is Nigh"!!! but now at least I can get back on track hopefully.
    Operation Rubic's Cube
has been completed as was a success

I had a few protestors complaining about lack of free running space, 'Charli & Monty' leading the protest group.
The paving must have been succesfull as nothing had moved or broken, 112-655 has the dubious honour of sitting on the paved surface

I have removed the seats from 112-655 to stop them from becoming brittle under the cover, the vehicle under the blue cover is 112-587 aka 'Wee-Wullie', being DBG it has to be under cover out of the weather, gee I hope I can find another garage to keep a couple of Land Rovers in, as 113-372 is also DBG, anyway as you can see it's all very compact with 9 Land Rovers, 2 x No5 trailers, 1 x 1/2T platform, our camper trailer and the wifes car anyway cheers Dennis
ps the real test will come for the paving job when I move 'Sooty' out of hibernation, he is quite heavy, the Bloodbox will never be going into the carport, as I don't think it would fit under the roof space,,.
