    Thomas winch

First timer on this forum.I found this site to be very informative .I am about start a resto of my Ex Military Series 2 10 seater wagon I have come across a 8000 pound PTO Thomas winch in the scrub where I work and its not in bad condition.I am led to believe they were fitted to Australian Army Landrover and Landcruisers is this correct and if so has anyone got a photo ?

I have only ever seen Bamford winches fitted to army Land Rovers. I have seen Thomas winches fitted to civillian Land Rovers. In some respects the Thomas winch is better, in others the Bamford winch is better. I have seen Thomas winches fitted to army Landcruisers.

I apparently have one fitted to my RRC, but as yet have not identified which type (it is electric, not pto). Anyone have some good links for research etc?
