			LED fuel gauge

					Hello Brains Trust!

I have the Marrelli LPG injection kit installed in my 3.9 classic along with an ICOM vertical donut tank. The thing is I can't get the LED fuel gauge to read anything but full! (which would be nice if it were true..)
I've put a test light on the return wire coming from the lpg tank sender and it shows a dimmer light than the 12v feed going to the tank so I assume the sender unit is working ok.
The kit came with 3 wires dedicated to this a red a white and a black, but the tank only has 2 wires, white and black.

The red wire from the kit, from the gas ecu is 12v power when ignition is on-so power to the tank gauge?, I assume that the black wire from ecu is earth leaving the whitey as the level sense.

I have the red power wire onto one side of the tank unit and the other wire from the tank to the white wire on the ecu. With the tank gauge showing half full the LED's show full.

 Any ideas?

The LED guage is programmable in the software.

Look at the switch tab in the software & you can change the pressure readings for the LED.

I'm still mucking around with mine & have a different tank to you but mine is set to (from memory) 123,116,111,109.

Getting close to having it almost right.

If you have fed 12 volts through your tank sender to earth you may have destroyed it, but I don't think you have done that. Two wire sensors are a variable resistance and should be connected with 1 wire to earth, the other wire to the gas sensor wire. Polarity is not important with resistance. Where's your multi meter? You should read 90 ohms between the two sensor wires when full, and 0-3 ohms at empty. Leave the red 12V wire off completely. Perhaps the white-to-white and black-to-black connections would have made more sense?

					Thanks,
I got it sorted now, found the software calibration bit and worked out the correct wires. Thanks for your tips Cannon and Beeutey.
