    Diesel or LPG injection.....

Hi all,I am in a bit of a quandry and need a bit of guidence....
Now beeutey will be on top of this but I would appreciate any and all input. We are moving further out of the Rat Race so we will be looking for a bit more range from our faithful WOMBAT (96 D1 V8).Currently I have the original petrol tank and manifold tanks in the rear of the "BAT".Now keeping in mind I LOVE me truck,do we look at getting rid of her for a diesel or look at LPG injection. What sort of range would I be looking at with the injection option, the old girl has done 230000 and still runs pretty well and I get about 220 k out of the gas at the moment.I do have a work vehicle but cant cram all the rug rats in the work truck,so where do I go????????Please help

It is a myth that you get vastly better range with gas injection. The amount of gas delivered by any gas system depends on how its tuned and whether it is connected to exhaust sensors. Your cheapest option is to add an oxygen sensor and mixture monitoring computer (lpg processor) to the V8. Cost should be around $300 for parts and should knock 20% off the full power consumption settings. A manifold tank with level road cruising should give at least 250km and up to 330km with a processor.

You will get a much bigger range with a TDi and d-gas but it depends on how far you are from the gas pump as to what will be better for you. Gas goes up in price fast as you leave civilisation.
