What is important is that the petrol injector being cut corresponds exactly to that cylinder's LPG injector. The gas ECU doesn't care which order they are wired in so long as all 8 are connected the same. There is no preferred no.1 injector, all are equivalent. The diagrams are recommended to be followed for ease of maintenance by another mechanic.
However, all that happens if the injector plugs are randomly swapped around is that during change-over from petrol to gas it would run rough as the injectors are swapped over 1 cylinder at a time, some would run rich and some lean as they overlap...
