Start by buying a second hand kit of petrol and gas tanks:

Then work out which kind of kit you want under the bonnet, find an installer willing to deal with the conversion etc.
Hi there I'm new here and have learnt so much from all of you!
We're looking to buy a second hand disco and am finding it hard to find the right information about the cost of LPG conversions. We'd particularly like the tank under the car rather than lose all of that awesome boot space.
Anyone have an idea of cost for this?
Cheers!

Under car tanks look neat, problem is you loose your petrol tank and are fitted with a small quarter panel tank. I had this on my D1. Problem is range if you do long hauls, and in the sticks when gas runs out there is little petrol to allow distance unless you carry some gerry cans.
3 scubas inside rear cabin, allow remaining petrol tank to stay, so back up range, can be boxed and covered.
In my current v8 D2 I have a Hiroshima bomb size tank, and it eats up a 1/3 of my rear cargo area space.
I guess the best alternative would be under car tanks and sill tanks for extra range when needed.
Underfloor Gas and 2 sill petrol tanks gives my rangie about 900k range
and I dont lose the boot space
