    LPG cuts out at high rpm and won't come back

    Hmmm....so I was driving home today and as it is only a short trip each day and the car never gets a work out I locked it in second gear for the 1km stretch of road that I can 'open it up' on (80km/h).
    It probably hit the high 3000's in rpm and the LPG cut out. Now it won't come on again...the lights come on on the switch but no gas comes through and it automatically reverts back to petrol...any ideas???

    Guess that will teach me to be a hoon!

    1. You may have an electric fault which requires plugging the laptop in to find.

    2. You may have tripped the excess-flow valve in the service tap on the gas tank. What brand of service valve has your gas tank got? Idling/coasting the vehicle for changeover may help reset the valve.

    3. Have you checked for gas pressure in the supply line? A common problem with gas installs in winter is dodgy earth connections which get wet and disconnect the tank lock. Do you hear it cut in? Hot wire the tank lock coil if needed to refill the gas service line.

    4. Gas converter froze due to low coolant. Low temp cut-out operates.

    Thanks Bee utey,

    I pluged the laptop in and checked around but there seemed nothing obvious.
    I realised that when switching from petrol to gas using the software I couldn't hear the tank solenoid switching on-which I normally can hear each time. So I poked about at a few wires and then thought....how bout we look at the basics, and whaddayaknow?! Blown 10amp fuse on the main feeder. Replaced the fuse and back in business.
    It begs the question though, why would a cobweb clearing short run pop the fuse? Anyway, it is up and running again and as always, I appreciate your knowledge and willingness to help Bee utey.

    Main fuse? Feeder to the tank? Main fuse on the systems I use is 15A. Under lots of power you may have got the fuse warm enough to sag the middle out, this can take quite a while under marginally close fuse ratings. If the gap in the fuse is only 1-2mm go up one notch in fuse rating. Remember under full load 8 injectors are open longer!

    Yes I wondered if 10amps was enough. That was what came with the setup when I bought it so perhaps I will upgrade it to a 15amp as you run in yours.
