    Counterfeit LPG car in a second hand, cost involved ?

    Hi all,

    I'm new to LPG, I'm having a hard beginning.

    Friday morning I went to Melbourne to buy a RR classic with LPG, after the seller confirmed that it had a compliance plate affixed.

    Today I was investigating an small oil leak to have it fixed before NSW rego inspection, and I discovered that the LPG plate and the VIN number does not match. Car year is MA, while the plate is EA.

    The seller's argument is something like "it is not my fault you didn't notice it". No comments.

    So, to move forward, what is the cost involved in order to get a compliance plate, the cheap way ? (bit of a tight budget here)

    I'm in Woy Woy, BTW.

    sorry,

    I mean to say "counterfeit LPG plate", not "counterfeit LPG car", sorry for the typo, but it is a bit hard to keep calm in these moments.

    Is it just the EA that doesn't match or are all the numbers wrong, too?

    I have to check the chassis number, too (if I find it, as it is not in the same place where the defender has it)

    Any LPG installer can issue a new plate so long as the system is actually legal. Think of it as a safety check, no biggie.

    Hi,

    thank you for your message. There is a LPG business close to my place, hopefully the system does not need big repairs or modifications. It works nicely, 20 L/100Km.

    in NSW the Work cover plate is replaced every time major repairs are done like LPG tank-convertor.by the repairer and will need a workshop number.blueslip providers may not have a gas install number.

    it will need a workcover plate for a NSW blueslip.
    my Egas falcon has a dodgey Victorian plate fitted factory-going by the dates it must have sat in a yard without a tank.-it also looks very home made.

    hardly anyone bothers if it wasn't from another state or Victorian. original installers plates are much better as it looks as if it wasn't bodged.
    but any repairer if they convinced its legit will be ok to replace it.

    I had the last 2 inspections done at Glendale shopping center.
