Hi Larns
If the motor is a ULP spec motor there shouldnt be a LPG problem,as you say being alloy all should be hardened allready.

Folks
I'm going to be installing an LPG system on a friends Stage 1 ute, now I would normaly send the head/s away to have stainless valves and hardened inserts installed. But seeing's as the head is alloy and already has inserts it poses the question, dose it already have stainless valves?
And dose anyone have a download of the 3.5's spec's for me to work off,
and how much would he be looking at for replacement elec. ignition?
Cheers Larns

True, but havn't a clue weather it's been rebuilt for unleaded and I'm pretty sure nun of the Stage 1's were made to run on unleaded.

						G'day
I had a 110 V8 converted to LPG many years ago, the system had 2 gas inlet mixers. These were fitted between each carby & the air intake elbow. The results were good with minimal power difference between petrol & LPG.
The problems only started after about 50000k's, these were difficulty starting when hot. Compression tests revealed that all cylinders were down. After strip down the original piston rings were as soft as butter, the rings could almost be straightened out. So if the motor is striped down then consider using cast rings as apposed to chrome molly.
