    LPG pressure sensor appears faulty

My KME Akme sequential system shuts off when driving. When stopped, I can get the car to run continually on gas. If I fiddle with the pressure sensor, it shuts down.

When looking at the software screen, the gas pressure drops to zero and the system switches back to petrol. Fiddle again, get a pressure reading and the system runs on LPG again. It's not the wiring.

I had a hunt around on the 'net and it seems the PS-CC2 sensor was not that reliable and is no longer available. I need to find a PS-CCT5 sensor and the matching plug. I wonder if Elko still sell KME?

I tried a German supplier on eBay but he doesn't take off the 19% VAT for non-EU sales.

The German supplier tells me if he doesn't charge VAT, he still has to pay it!

I've been given a Autronic MAP sensor (new type: AA 612-A4.0) to try.

I don't know the pin-outs nor do I have a plug to match.

I think I can work out the pin-outs but the plug might be a problem.

    It looks like this:

Bee Utey, do you know if these are common plugs.

That looks like a common AEB025 map sensor, the plug should be common to all systems using that sensor. It's the same plug as the later style diagnostic port plug. I've no idea where else you'd find one though. I bought a couple of cheapish injection kits off ebay recently, I've not yet decided if I'll part them out or restore them to working condition. Depends on the parts needed.

You could try this seller, a chinese lpg kit supplier on ebay.

Thanks Jilden, yes, now that I look, it is very similar to the AEB, The text on the side is slightly different but that's all. Mine has "GAS" whereas the AEB has "Pressure"

I'll try a local gasman or auto electrician first. There are similar ones on eBay but not quite the same.

This is the inside of the socket:

I just had a look at that Chinese seller and his AEB025 looks identical to what I have, including the wording. Now to see if he has a plug....

    Thanks again, Jilden.

I've had a look around but all the plugs I can see are like the AMP Superseal that don't appear to suit this socket - note the strakes (for want of a better word) at each end of the socket plus the three polarising strakes on the sides.

EDIT: I had a look at the plugs sold for the AEB025 and I now wonder if the smaller strakes are to align the plug in the socket. If so, I shouldn't have a problem sourcing a plug.

I've decided I'm parting out the Landi Renzo kit I've got (too many unknowns) and the diagnostic plug fits an AEB MAP sensor. PM me if you want it.

Thanks Jilden. Let me try a local LPG bloke just down the road - I have to take a guide dog to the pet grooming business next door to him. If I don't do any good, I'll get back to you. Your offer is greatly appreciated.

Jilden, would you know the pin outs for the AEB025?

    Regards,

Measured on my merc when running: pins from L to R: 0V engine earth; Pgas typically 2.5V to 3V; MAP (vac) typically 0V to 1.5V; +5V power.
