    LPG tank removal

    Hey guys,
I'm in the process of removing the twin underfloor tanks from a 98 Discovery and would appreciate any tips or tricks to dropping tanks without damaging the tank fittings. It looks like the pair would come out as one if I lower the drivers side first and bring it out on an angle or can the tanks be removed one at a time by undoing from mounting frame.

You loosen the clamping straps, usually by 4 nuts under the middle of the cradle, then lower straight down and rotate tanks at the same time. There are two welded areas of the chassis at the tie down points that may snag the tanks. You may have to tilt the cradle a bit at this point. Make sure that the towbar is completely out of the way first.

    Thanks mate,

makes sense, there isn't much room under there. And yes, tow bar and mounts removed, sway bar disconnected and moved out of the way.
