    1/4 tank removal

    Hey guys,
looks like I have to replace fuel pump in the small fuel tank located in the guard on the D1. Question is can I remove it without dropping the twin underfloor gas tanks? Any tips/tricks appreciated.

Bolts for the rear 1/4 tank are usually found under the carpet next to the back door pillar and depending on the tank manufacturer, either at the old mud flap mounting holes or further forward under the carpet. Undo the big grommet around the filler neck, plug the neck with a scrunched up plastic bag and drop the tank enough to reach in from the wheel arch and disconnect the pipes and hoses before dropping it all the way out.

Thanks Bee Utey, it's a LRA tank, and yes I've located the bolts. I was hoping it could be done without touching the gas tanks.
