I've just had my D1 fitted with twin torpedos under the back, 70L usable, completely replaced the original tank. Departure angle and clearance has been lost but not to the extent of an 80 series dragging it's spare tyre along underneath it.
Hi,
Just got myself a V8 Disco 2 '99 model and was hoping someone might know if a gas conversion is viable. It's a 7 seater so I prefer not to have a tank in the back though. Is there room underneath for decent size tanks without losing ground clearance?

Thanks, will have to check around how the Disco 2's go for a similar set up.
The D2, owing to the Bosch EMS, will need a SGI LPG system, not a simple venturi system.

Oldzook, what type of mileage do you get from 70Lt LPG?
And thanks p38arover for your SGI LPG tip.

I'm thinking about getting the 300tdi converted to Diesel gas
has anyone had any experience with diesel Gas on 300 dti ?
is it worth the conversion ?Originally Posted by hazza
It's a weekender so gets subjected to all sorts of driving modes but usually returns around the 5k/L mark on average, much the same as petrol was as standard and similar power. However as I have also bumped the timing up to 14 (yours will adjust the timing automatically BTW), it now has much more power on petrol (98) and although I only really run on gas now I would say at a guess it would avg about 6.5k/L on petrol now. I've got a sub tank in the RH rear qtr panel which holds about 40L, tho not sure as haven't cycled a full tank thru it, so all up by my reckoning I should have more total range than standard. I'll take a pic later so you can see the underhang, it was a shock at first how low it hung but I'm used to it now. It didn't cause any problems at the beach on the weekend but I haven't got it angry in the bush yet so time will tell. Longer term I'm intending to do a 2" BL so I can tuck them up a little higher then.
As mentioned your D2 will require SVI, and you better get in the que now and sit tight
Do a search - someome had their D2 V8 done a few weeks back and put a post up about it - was less than 2 months ago.
