Do you want to run dual fuel or dedicated gas, you can get twin under tanks which go where the fuel tank goes, and you could get some sill tanks for petty if you wanted, i have a 90L tank in the back of my rangie and there isnt alot of room, currently devising a drawer/storage sytem to give me some usable boot space. I have an APA system from memeory (or something liker that)

Under floor scuba tanks only give about 60L useable.
At 20L/100km, that's about 300km.

I assume looking at your picture that you have a P38a.
Completely different setup to a classic.
The easy solution is a tank that goes in the spare tyre well. 90 litre tank, about 70 usable litres. But where does the spare tyre go (can not bye a commercial rear tyre carrier for P38a.
a company in England do tanks that go where you cut out he spare tyre carrier, get 130 litres, but the tanks are not certified in australia.
The cheapest i have found is $4,200 and the dearest is $6,000.
The price variation is due to quality of system.
I do not know many in Melbourne but I think Decon motors do it for P38A.
I know a guy who got the $6,000 gas jobbie (from Decon) and he is getting about same kms/l on highway as he was on petrol (have not heard from him about round town

Yes, Aussie has a P38A.

Re an internal tank, I had a 90 litre cylindrical tank in mine (across the car behind the seat). I've removed that and fitted a toroidal tank in the wheel well. It only has 54 litres usable capacity. I wanted the floor space back.



I have a Kaymar rear step bar and swing-away wheel carrier on my car. I'm thinking of selling it.



I can't see why cutting out the wheelwell and fitting under floor tanks would require tank certification in Australia. I have seriously considered this. It would need exhaust rerouting to clear the tanks.

The English system is this one. For pressure tanks the design has to be certified in Australia, for each tank individual design. Part of the sign off in NSW is by workcover (god knows why, or probably even he doesn't).

Hey Ron, why are you thinking of selling the rear bar and carrier? Pain in the ****, not needed, found a better one(???), is annoying??

IMHO gassing a Rangie isn't worth it. You lose most of the load space with most options, OR have to carry the spare on an (expensive) external setup which also spoils the lines of the vehicle amd probably wouldn't help your fuel economy either !.

The big $$ involved for a decent conversion setup can buy a LOT of petrol and you'll never recoup the cost when you come to sell the vehicle. That's why mine still runs on dinosaur juice and not dino farts.
