Land Rover Enthusiasts

The Steering Committee of the newly formed
Land Rover Owners Club of Australia (NSW Branch) Inc. (aka Land Rover Enthusiasts – NSW)
wishes to advise that the Club is now up and running and welcomes enquiries and new members.
The aims of the Club are:- To promote and encourage the total Land Rover Lifestyle, including but not limited to: touring, training, maintenance, restoration, social, community activities and bushcraft - all done in a safe and environmentally sensitive manner.
Other vehicle brands - Although primarily a Land Rover Owners Club, the NSW Branch welcomes people who own other brands of 4WD and AWD vehicles, including ‘soft roaders’, who enjoy participating in any of the varied aspects of the 4WD Lifestyle.
Operations – In order to keep membership fees to a minimum, the Club will be internet based, with no printed magazine and various locations will be used for meetings. Communication will be via the Club website, the AULRO Forum and direct (group) emails. While the website is currently under development, members will be notified by email of anything of Club significance.
Area of Operations - As can be seen from our name, the primary area encompassed by the Club is the state of NSW. Although the majority of members will reside in the state capital, in order to cater for country or more dispersed members it is intended to establish regional ‘Chapters’ of the Club. These ‘Chapters’ will operate semi-independently under the Constitution and By-Laws and will enjoy the advantage of the Club insurance cover and HCRS.
Fees – There is a Joining fee of $20 (for which you will receive a 'goodies’ bag) and an Annual fee of $60 (this will cover things such as insurance, affiliation with other organisations, website hosting etc.). Fees will be reviewed annually and may be reduced if membership grows sufficiently.
Historic Conditional Registration Scheme – The NSW Roads and Maritime Services (the old RTA) has granted approval to the LROC of Australia (NSW Branch) Inc. to operate the HCRS. This means that members throughout the state can take advantage of considerably cheaper registration for qualifying vehicles provided they abide by the rules laid down by RMS and the Club.
Activities - The Club (including the regional ‘Chapters’) will run a variety of activities and trips from purely social gatherings, right through the range of interests encompassed by the 4WD Lifestyle, to extended duration remote area touring. We already have a fairly busy Activities Calendar and it’s being updated continually with new events. Trips to date have been well attended and some others are booked out months in advance.
Interested? – If you feel that the LROC of Australia (NSW Branch) Inc. is the 4WD club that caters for your needs then send an email to: info@lre-nsw.org.au
Include your location, 4WD area of interest (touring, restoration, military vehicles, social activities etc.), your phone number and preferred contact method and time and one of us will get in touch with you ASAP with further details and a Membership Application Form.
Interested but need to know more? – Email your questions and contact details (as above) and one of us will get in touch with you ASAP with some answers to your questions.
Due to current commitments and recent interest in the establishment of such a club, please be patient while we answer your questions.
Best wishes,
On behalf of the Steering Committee
