Well we will be heading off on our trip around oz soon if anyone wants to come .

BTW Jon I ended up getting a Kelly Kettle from Ireland for a really good priice. They had some seconds with minor blemishes, a lovely bit of kit.

All the best and safe travels for your trip Simon.
Don't forget, there's room at the lodge at Normanhurst if you need somewhere around the big smoke to kip for a night or three.

BTW, if you're here around the 14th, you'd be more than welcome and may wish to spend an exciting night at the Club AGM

Thanks Roger. We may take you up on that offer after all. We have a large dog though.

Our first stop will be Greta, catching up with friends and family in the Hunter. We should hopefully be on the road next week.

    Hi Simon and Sarah

Yes the forum has been rather quiet, but not necessarily activity in the Club. Many of us are preparing our reports for the AGM and trying to convince others that they need to prepare theirs as well all being ready to hand over to the subsequent Committee or the musical chairs that happens within committees at this time.

Did the position at Shepparton eventuate?

Dearly wish I could tag along with your big lap as well, but not to be for a while at least.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

It would be good to catch up again and the dog shouldn't be a problem - we had a Kelpie for a while so have a section of the yard fenced.

Keep in touch re times/dates though as we'll be away for a short while from tomorrow - trying to entice a few trout onto the hook ....................... oh .......and grandparents day at the school. Gee, I almost forgot that.

Sorry for the thread hy-jack Jon but yes, I agree, there hasn't been much communication to/between members either here, direct email or phone lately.

    Hi Simon,
Good luck on your trip. Hope you all really enjoy and get a lot out of it, I'm sure the kids will absolutley love it.

Im really pleased I got my Kelly Kettle - fantastic bit of kit. Its good for making proper coffee too, you just need to let the water boil a bit longer than normal to do the coffee pot - make sure you only have 50-75% water in the kettle though otherwise the water boiling puts out the fire below!

My other tip would be to gather your "morning" sticks & twigs the night before and keep them in the car so they remain dry. It makes that 1st morning coffee come so much quicker & easier

    Have fun.

Dianna - the Shepparton job is still going through all the checks but theyk have pretty much said its mine for as long as i want to stay there. I have told them i can give them 3 months and then we will be off to Tassie. Perhaps when we are on the south coast you can pop in for a camp.

Roger - no worries wil keep you informed.

Jon - thanks for the tips. loking forward to giving it a good workout.

    Coffee

Whilst we are talking coffee i picked up an aeropress AeroPress. It makes a damn good brew, it is quick and easy to clean. Highly recommended.
