Truck cab looking for a tub

    Hi,

I have a 1958 Series 1 (109 in) truck cab with a modern aluminium tray back. I think it looks good - if slightly unconventional - but was wondering what it would take to put a LR ute tub on the back. I believe tubs from both 109 inch and 107 inch models would fit.

    Does anyone have any leads?

All it takes is to find a tub. You are right - the wheelbase difference is forward of the doors.

But finding a good tub may not be easy. One of the reasons that many lwb Series 1s have traybacks is that the tubs are not nearly as durable as the Series 2/3 tubs, and many have been discarded after they fell to pieces.

Bloody nice looking series 1 !
Is that the one that was for sale in the last year or so with a Holden donk?
I guess you'll have to look out for a wreck and scavenge the tub.

Yes. I bought it in Feb this year. It's got a 202 blue motor in it. A bloke in Fremantle had bought it from Tasmania, but originally it had been restored in South Australia.

Yeah. The paint is in pretty good nick. Actually, the Land Rover used to live in Tassie having been restored in SA.
