    3 Sisters gone!

Flash led an LROC Mt Walker run yesterday, and to finish off we planned to exit near the 3 Sisters.

Well the whole area has been clear-felled. Tracks have been closed with trees across. It's difficult to recognise the area, only one track is visible. The others are covered over.

Another closure. Where does it end.

    Regards

    Hi Wayne,

I think you're referring to near Zigzag. Now the 4 Sisters from memory, haven't been there for a while.

There was another set not far away, but the other side of Lithgow, in the pine forests. These are the set that have gone.

    Regards

It takes a little bit of spirit out of you each time you come across one of these scenes.

I remember one of my old favourate trips where you would wind up from the campsite through the bush eventually coming out of onto the taralga road on my last trip the trip seemed normal coming out of the campsite then all of a sudden the native bush had been clear felled and the winding road was now straight graded gravel ready for a pine forest. Was so disappointed that I have never been back in 25 years.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Reminds me of Tassie when I live there. What was all native forests form a lookout was all pine within 5 yrs.
Im not against logging, but clear felling and replanting with pine is not the same as grabbing a tree and making planks out of it for use.
