    SHANNON'S EASTERN CREEK CLASSIC 2008

    FOLKS,
    in the lead up to all british day, we seem to be forgetting the bigger and more important Shannon's Eastern Creek Classic on the following sunday...24th of August.
    last year we had close to twenty cars, this year the club has purchased 30 spots plus we have organised the most pristine examples of land rover's finest to grace 5 display positions on pit row to celebrate land rover's 60th.
    bob shannon is handling money collection at the moment but has been a little hard to contact. i will organise a receipt book so i can collect as well.
    also too many chiefs on this one saw us miss out on registering our club for the event, luckily, a few strings pulled by your's truly and collection of a few favours has secured us our inclusion.
    the cost per car is $10, this will go to the club to reimburse the pre-purchased tickets they have bought for the event. receipts will be issued!
    it's an all-day event with plenty to do, firstly, there will be nearly 1900 cars and motor bikes there and all of these will get the chance to do a parade lap around eastern creek with their club.
    there are also little vendors set up in the pit garages selling all sorts of bits and pieces from car books and old manuals, though cloth braided ignition cables for the classic cars to die cast models of you favourite makes and models of cars.
    food available, rides around the track in old double-decker busses for the kids and the concourse cars, restored to factory spec. this is the biggest event on the Australian car club calender and is one not to be missed.

    How can you say that we are forgetting the Eastern Creek Classic?

    Plans are well in-hand - The location is planned for a move from the previous location on the kitty litter, crammed between the carports and the chain wire fence to a new open area adacent the military vehicles along the main straight.

    I have paid for my ticket!

    How many others have paid for theirs?

    I have never had any problem contacting Bob Shannon. Bob and Chris Klein are in almost daily contact and Mark (Larry) is just as easy to contact. If there has been any lack of coordination it has been at Committee level, not having check books available to send off registration fees etc.

    i have recieved the tickets from the CMC for this event, contact me, bob or chris klein to book in for the event and we will work out getting your pass to you before the event.
    it would be great if we could all arrive together as we did last year, so we can meet down the road and head in together.
    it's only 3 weeks away, so we need to get these tickets sold and out to you members. the club has already paid for them up front on our behalf and we need to recoup the funds.
    so please get in touch asap.

    Just confirming we'll definitely be going in the SIII. Do you want me to transfer the money for the ticket now? If so, pm or email me bank details. Also, when you have the details of the convoy meeting place, time, etc, let me know so we can be in the convoy.

    i spoke to Bob today, he is supposed to be sending me a list of people currently going.
    i have told him about you panda, and i can get your money on the day when we meet in the morning.

    no worries Diana, hope you had a good day, i certainly did. it's a pity that those who left early weren't there for the awards at the end of the day, it was a proud moment for us all,
