Hello and some local knowledge sought

    G'day all,
I paid my dues at the All British Day, so believe I just may be a member. Hello fellow members
I am hoping to get my 2a registered before the expo, and would like to gain some local knowledge as I fear I am running out of time rather quickly:
I am looking for a recommendation on where to take it for inspection-I live in Carlingford.
Prior to that, I need to get my truck's rear crossmember patched and I lack welding expertise and equipment. A family member was going to do this for me but won't be around till after the expo so i'm stuck. I also have very little money so don't like the idea of paying through the nose for an improper job. A recommendation on where I can get this done would be appreciated too. Can panel beaters or normal mechanics undertake weld repairs?

I'm pretty new to the whole vehicle restoration/rebuild thing so the learning curve is sometimes slippery
    Thanks and regards,
    Mark

Some information on registering an unregistered vehicle from the RTA site...you probably know this anyway...

    What you need to provide:

    • Proof of your identity, or if you're registering the vehicle in the name of a company or organisation, proof that the company or organisation is a legal entity.
    • Proof of entitlement to register the vehicle.
    • Proof of your residential address in NSW.
    • A hard copy green slip or CTP Policy Receipt with the number plate section blank (except for trailers). The period of cover must be 12 months for light vehicles.
    • A blue slip from an Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspection Station (AUVIS).
    • Evidence of repairs if the vehicle is a repairable write-off.
    • An engineer's certificate if the vehicle has been modified beyond the owner-certified level, or is an Individually Constructed Vehicle (ICV).
    • The number plates (if available).
    • A completed Application for Registration, available form the Registration Foms link below.

    • Proof of entitlement to register the vehicle.

This would be a receipt I presume? Wonder if they'll accept an ebay receipt

The proof of entitlement can be a receipt, or a letter. It must have the sellers full name, address, date of sale, price and signature.

That pretty much rules out an eBay receipt.

I had to track down the bloke who gave me gus 6 years ago and ring him up out of the blue to organise this!
