Just like when you check the battery, 1. unclip and remove the seat base, 2. unclip and remove the battery box cover .... that's about it.

If you need to take the battery out it may be a little easier if you remove the whole seat (4 6mm bolts - use a 10mm socket or spanner).

don't know what make of seat you have (I have seen 3 different ones in Perenties) - but is there a small white button centrally underneath the front of the seat? - try pressing/pushing that

    or

if it has been damaged in service (some have been) just try giving the whole seat base a gentle tug upwards

    otherwise

you may have to take out the whole seat (it's not difficult) - slide it forward to access the rear bolts, then slide it backwards to do the forward ones.

I guess you haven't yet checked the battery fluid levels then ?

My seat base is held in by 4 pins. If you grab the front of the squab and give it a firm upwards pull the pins will pop out of the frame.
