That is something that had not occurred to me - that it actually got built during army service. This is quite possible, I suppose, a rebuild of a S3 damaged in the front using the remains of a S2a damaged in the back, during the period when both models were in army service, and vehicle demand was high (Vietnam?).Quote:

I searched through REMLR ARNs for series 3 vehicles and only 2 or 3 popped up with chassis numbers 913 xxx xxx which is what I believe this one is. I will know more next week.
The previous owner called it Olive, I think it needs to be renamed The Mongrel.

It is what we expected, a combination of 2 vehicles. I rubbed the chassis number down and it still doesn't conform to LR numbering though which is very odd. Looks to be 9 or even 10 digits.
It has a sals rear axle so I believe it has a series 3 chassis, running gear and gearbox along with the tub. The 2a parts seem to be the firewall forward from earlier discussions.
You could have come over for a look on Sat if I had known you were at the auction Scott!

Still love to have a look. A guy on Facebook said he knew the vehicle and it was an army rebuild out of series 3 parts with original series 2A parts. Makes it a very interesting vehicle.Quote:
