I have just bought a 1971 series2a LWB workshop.
military land rover. Where can i find the Military history?
Census no. 6238
Chassis no. 25335436G

Aust Army unit no. is marked on the body as
917I

I am on the same journey :-)

I have my ARN army rego number and was told by a guy at Bandiana Museum the Unit Logs for the vehicle are the only real record.

Where did you find the unit number on the body?

Not sure about history but you could join REMLR or just browse the site.The Registry of Ex Military Land Rovers. Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere.
There's a lot of documentation there including the ARN for your vehicle.

The problem is.....there is very little traffic through the REMLR website nowadays so the forum section is very quiet but the documentation might help.
