    LandRover Assault on Gaza

    Hi folks

I drive a 130 and have no knowledge of Military LandRovers.

But on the news we’ve watched lots of LandRovers deployed with the Israeli Defence forces over the years. They took on rock slinging teens during the intifadah and more recently supporting the assault on Gaza.

So what’s the story? Are LandRovers built in Israel or were shipped as KDKs? Are the modifications with armour and weapons points undertaken locally? What motors do Israeli LandRovers use?

Is the current assault good or bad brand publicity?

    cheers

    Alan

The IDF use the 110 and a LC 79 series. They do their own up-armouring ( why not, they build their own tanks after all ).

    The 110 uses a 2.5 4 cyl turbodiesel, but it seems unlikely that it's 300TDi , so I dunno.

the brand publicity angle will depend on your view of the conflict, which is a topic I imagine the mods would want to be discussed in CA, not here.

Usually with the PKP option, or similar.

    As demonstrated on Australian roads.
