    Of interest were a 1977 SIIB-FC Camper for $13,500 (Pg. 58) a Restored 1942 Ford Jeep for $26,000 (Pg. 78) and a restored M8 Greyhound for $75,000 (Pg. 119)

That would be an interesting SIIB seeing that production for the beasts ceased years before 1977.*

    Diana

    * production did continue for a specific South African Army contract until 1976 although the chassis number for this production would have to commence with prefix "332"

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Diana, Didn't the South Africans continue to build FC's well into the 70's - maybe it's one of those?
    (I'm betting it's a typo 1967)

I didn't pick up on that Diana - but that would make sense...

I will see if the ad has a chassis number when I am in at my Land Rover research station ...umm, I mean work, tomorrow...

That may well be worth the money, the late SA Army ones had Salisbury diffs front and rear and an all synchromesh gearbox.

Note the SA Army specific opening windscreen.

From memory that one is the radio truck type, the ambulances were a little more rounded at the peak.

BTW: the engine number is wrong - not enough digits and if it's a "0" in the 3rd, 4th or 5th position that's missing, it's not the original engine or it's a 1967 vehicle.

Addit: Apparently it is a Command vehicle!

Someone that you bought Eden from is my guess?

    Do I need another SIIB?

Phoenix, would you meet me at the airport?

I wouldn't have to feel embarrased about taking it to Corowa, although I would have to re-paint it back to SA army specs - outside but not inside.

BTW: it doesn't have Salisbury front and rear ends!
