The "replaced tray" part sounds typical of the Tenix/BAe rebuild process where trailers were reduced to components, reconditioned and then rebuilt. very few trailers managed to be reunited with their original tubs.Quote:

Thats exactly the situation with my No.5 the only number is on the LHS outer tab as per the image, but I have also seen then on the LHS inner tab.
No GOF plate only remnants of the holes and can't find anything stamped on the chassis.
Mine has an aluminium plate Govt Ordnance Factory Maribyrnong and the serial number on the left rear. of the tub. There are numbers near that drain plug as pictured but so poorly stamped as to be illegible. Qld. Transport did not recognise GOF as a manufacturer even though hundreds of No. 5's must have been registered over the decades. So mine is registered as "home made".
Same thing happened with my No.5 but NSW RMS does recognise ADI where it does not recognise GOF.Quote:

I find that odd that Qld Tpt would want to call it home made, as I have just renewed my No 5 rego and it is listed as "Make:ORDANANCE FACTORY in Capitals :) if you want to change it, you an quote that there is already at least 1 is regoed as Ordanance Factory that is AI-1160 due date 5-5-14
