Put some mudguards on it and register it as homemade, which it quite likely is.

						G'day everyone,
I'm new here so please be nice...
I'm looking at what I believe to be an ex-military trailer, however it's unregistered and the seller doesn't know where to find a chassis/VIN number stamping.
He bought it from Pickles about 8 years ago apparently. I'd really like something like this but I don't want an expensive piece of scrap metal if I can't get it registered.
Can anyone identify the type of trailer and any idea if it would have a VIN/Chassis number, and if so where it might be found?
Thanks in advance. trailer.jpgtrailer1.jpg

My only challenge is I'm in NSW and as far as I can see, it's basically impossible.
It's not impossible, it's not even hard. Claim the build date prior to 1980.

With a bit of luck, Slunnie will be along after work. He probably can quote chapter and verse.

Happy to be corrected, but from the enquiries I've made, I would have to prove somehow that it was built prior to 1990. The seller bought from pickles 8 years ago apparently but has lost the paperwork and pickles are no use.
Stat dec.

						Hi,
Are you chasing an ex army "Land Rover" trailer, or just a trailer.
I'm no expert, but that doesn't look like an ex army trailer to me.
From the photos it looks to have 6 stud Land Cruiser split rims, and I thought army trailers had a single round draw bar.
Sorry, I have no useful input as to registering it in NSW.
