			Early Army Trailer

					Hi All
I have been told about a Military Trailer around 1945 vintage
Has any one got photo's of Trailer's of this age.
I believe it has a A-Frame with a ring coupling.
The one photo I have seen, it appeared to be a tub, there a X pressing in the front panel.
Any ideas what it would be worth and if it is worth while restoring.
 Cheers
 Ian

The Manufacturers plate says it all.

Ian they were used along with the US made Batam Jeep trailers by the Aust. Army right through till replaced by the No. 5 trailer. Many even had wheel adapters to convert to Land Rover PCD and track, originally they were Jeep track and therefore Series 1 Land Rover track.

Technically it's a WWII and Korean Conflict Jeep Trailer for an Australian Army Jeep, so valuable for Jeep restorers.

Although not original I think that they also look great behind an 80", partiularly if they have LR hubs and were much more common in Australia than the Brockhouse trailer that was sold in the UK, but rarely in Oz.

What are they worth??? in good condition???

The No 5 trailer that you would know so well for the Series 2/2a and 3 Land Rovers go for as low as $500 to what I think is silly money well above $1,000 and sometimes over $2,000.

The trailer in the above images was purchased for only a couple or three hundred dollars, but as you can see is a little rough from age. It will be going behind a 1948 80".

Knowing your feelings, you'd want to keep the original Jeep hubs and just a note: the spare wheel was not a standard fitting, but would be necessary if used with one of your Series 1's.

If you don't want it, I am sure that there would be plenty of Mil vehicle collectors would like it.
